We strive to provide an excellent health care service to the community of Central Southland - from Dipton in the north, Avondale in the west, Hedgehope in the east and Tussock Creek in the south.The Winton Medical Practice serves the primary medical needs of 5700 people in Central Southland, a prosperous agricultural community, 30km north of Invercargill City.

Level 1 - Continuing to keep you safe at Winton Medical Services

Key points for Alert Level 1:

  • Precautions will remain in place to protect the community
  • We will continue to screen all clients, all In-person visits will be preceded by assessment at reception for any symptoms of respiratory illness, and risk according to Ministry of Health guidance.
  • Physical distancing procedures within the surgery will remain in particular, patients with respiratory symptoms need to be separated from other patients within the practice.
  • We are open for business all services are back up and running including the liquid nitrogen clinic starting back Thursday 17 June at 4:15pm.
  • Please continue to phone ahead for all appointments.
  • Repeat prescriptions are to be ordered via phone between 9am and 11am.

After Hours care option

  • As of April 2024, Invercargill after-hours care is being provided at Te Hau o Te Ora General Practice on Clyde Street. The service runs from 6.00-9pm on weekdays and 12-4pm on weekends and public holidays until further notice. This is an appointment-based service. Please 0800 456 138 to arrange an appointment.
